New Staff Welcomed in ava Ceremony
The traditional Pasifika ceremony welcomed new staff and multiple new teams.
In April, we had the great pleasure of officially welcoming the 11 new TAT staff members who have come on-board the TAT vaka in this first quarter of 2024.
In her opening remarks, General Manager Carmen Collie mentioned that this was an indication of greater things to come for Tangata Atumotu.
The Ava (or Kava) ceremony is a significant custom of welcome across Pacific cultures, and was a milestone for us as a Pasifika organisation.
We acknowledge our Samoan community for leading the Ava ceremony, as well as the many friends & family who joined us in celebrating our new team members.
